A success story that really rocks!
Although not taken seriously by many when it was first launched, the INTELLO vapour check membrane with humidity-variable diffusion resistance revolutionised construction practice back in the early 2000s. Since then, it has come a long way: an established part of best building practice, the first humidity-variable vapour check membrane with an ETA, certified as fulfilling Passive House standards, and with excellent results in hazardous substance testing. 20 years on from its market launch, it has been fitted on countless projects – ranging from tiny houses right through to multi-storey buildings – on ceilings, roofs and walls to ensure the integrity of the airtightness layer.
Excellent protection against mould and moisture damage
INTELLO works on the principle of the climate-controlled membrane: in winter, INTELLO reduces or stops the entry of moisture into roofs and walls with its sd value of significantly over 25 m (g value over 125 Mn·s/g; vapour permeance less than 0.13 perms), which is equivalent to weekly moisture transport of less than 7 g/m²; in summer, INTELLO facilitates exceptionally high moisture transport of over 500 g/m² per week out of the structure. As a result, unforeseen moisture can dry out of the insulation over and over again, meaning that mould has no chance to form!

Alongside INTELLO, pro clima now offers membranes for specialised applications such as INTELLO PLUS – the INTELLO vapour check membrane with additional reinforcement to contain blown-in insulation materials – and INTELLO X – which has been engineered for use on refurbishment projects and in unconverted attic spaces to withstand permanent exposure to diffuse UV radiation. From March 2024, pro clima is producing its all of its INTELLO and INTELLO PLUS climate membranes with 50% recycled materials in their fleece layers.
This saves on valuable resources and leads to less waste. Previously, the off-cuts generated in the course of the manufacture of PP fleece materials were disposed of as waste. However, pro clima has succeeded in modifying its production processes to utilise this material as a valuable secondary raw material. There is no change in the quality level or overall characteristics of the INTELLO/INTELLO PLUS end products as a result of this new development: the technical properties remain identical, and the overall performance in service is the same!
